Schema

Schema.org markup

Schema.org markup is a vocabulary of structured-data tags (usually embedded as JSON-LD) that describe page content to search engines and AI crawlers in a machine-readable format.

Common types for local businesses: LocalBusiness, Organization, Service, FAQPage, HowTo, Speakable, BreadcrumbList, AggregateRating, and Review. Schema doesn't directly boost rankings, but it dramatically improves extractability — pages with valid FAQPage schema are 3–5x more likely to appear in AI Overviews. Always validate with Google's Rich Results Test before shipping.
